The Kardashian's & Bruce Jenner

I know I have told you all before about my minor obsession with celebrity gossip. It's stupid, I know. Every once in a while I like to read the gossip. I signed up for Twitter years ago simply to see the tweets from celebs. It's ridiculous. Don't judge me.

Today's pointless celebrity bitching is regarding The Kardashian's. No matter where you look, you see the Kardashians. Weight loss products, SEARS clothing,  Kayne West's bed...Kardashians. I have to admire how they took a less than classy experience (beautiful Kim's sex tape) and turned that attention into world wide fame. They work hard for their money, really, and I'm not being sarcastic.  The topic today is their mixed signals when it comes to protecting their skin. If you watched Khloe's wedding episode, or read any gossip magazine during 2008, you would probably have heard that Khloe had skin cancer. In this interview, Khloe mentioned how scared she was and how it is important to be careful in the sun.  Apparently Khloe has had a change of heart.

Yesterday one of my melanoma friends directed my attention to this tweet:

Now, not only has Khloe had skin cancer, but Bruce Jenner--the man scheduled to speak at this Smart Tan convention--recently had his own battle with skin cancer.

I remember when I first heard that Bruce had been diagnosed with skin cancer. I honestly thought that the Kardashian's would hit the road running to raise awareness for this disease. They have a tendency of blowing even the smallest things into such a big deal that the media has to pay attention, so I honestly figured that a cancer diagnosis would be something the family would not keep quiet. 

 

Not only has the family kept quiet about Bruce's cancer scare, they have not changed their ways in terms of tanning. It wasn't long ago that Kim was spotted at a tanning salon. Or how about when Kim tweeted a tan challenge? While the girls do mention spray tans from time to time, who really knows how they get that glow.

Bruce has really upped the shocker when it comes to his skin cancer. Mr. Jenner is the headline speaker at The Smart Tan Convention. This convention will touch on topics like changing the anti-tanning message, how to properly discuss the vitamin D concern with customers ("With so much information about the pros and cons associated with sunlight, UV and vitamin D, it is essential to know what you can and can't say as a tanning business."), and how to find your tanning champion within, presented by Bruce Jenner.

Other special guests attending this event are Snooki and Jwoww of Jersey Shore. This will be Snooki's first post-baby red carpet event.

It's going to be a classy event filled with UV radiation, wrinkles, and a whole lot of leathery skin! A dermatologist could make a few bucks at this convention, I'd bet!

Back to Jenner, I can't explain to you how much this frustrates and offends me. Bruce got lucky. He had an early stage of skin cancer that was easily cut out and he got to go back to his normal Kardashian filled life. The dude got damn lucky and he's freaking taking it for granted! Quite frankly, it f**king pisses me off!

And for Khloe, a skin cancer survivor herself, to promote this convention to her many followers? Really, Khloe, really?
