45 Life Lessons

"21. Burn the candles,
use the nice sheets,
wear the fancy lingerie.
Don't save it for a special occasion.
Today is special."
~Regina Brett

I was browsing through Facebook, trying to give my mind a break, when I came across a friends status that had this quote. It got me thinking...How many of us DO wait for a special occasion to do any of the above? It is so easy to want to do something, but how many of us actually make the next step and DO it?

I know I am guilty of putting things off too long. Family pictures I wanted to have? Still unplanned. Going back to school to get a degree in something I can actually use? Not there yet. Joining a gym? Eh...soon...

The quote made me curious to read the rest of the article written by Regina Brett. The best thing about the Internet? Pretty much everything is available with the click of some keys. I want to share this with you because it hit home for me. As Mr. Spots said today, this experience has made me realize I am not invincible. It has forced us to take a realistic view of life...Opened our eyes...Allowed for us to make something special about each day.  In that sense, I am thankful.
